It is very difficult to see the status of the petition online or to read all of the comments: We want justice for the victims of 3 crimes!
Comments as of 18 February 2015
The following people have also commented. Especially those who care for people with disabilities are very shocked by the indifference of the Dutch police and prosecution service.
Name | Comment |
Ellyn Larson | I’m signing this petition because we are absolutely devastated by everything that has happened. The total apathy of the police and prosecution service is is abysmal. It has cost us so much stress and time to try to get basic justice and a sense that we are being taken seriously for 3 very serious violent acts. I just don’t understand it! I hope others with join in on this. We will be launching a Dutch version of it also. |
robert pit | It is very important to us, and also our dog Jane who misses her mate. |
sue bender | It amazes me how authorities can turn a blind eye to all of these crimes. The murder of an animal and the gross negligence and attempted murder of a human being cannot be taken lightly. This man is a menace and if he gets away with these crimes, he will not stop. How many more lives need to be lost or compromised before law enforcement takes action? Only the lowest of the low would commit such crimes on society’s most vulnerable members. This man needs to be stopped! |
Aurora Avorio | I am utterly appalled by the behavior of Netherlands officials in these cases. The Netherlands has for centuries provided a safe haven for individuals fleeing from discrimination and persecution… How is it that they so heinously abandon one of their own?? ESPECIALLY a citizen who is severely handicapped and wheelchair-bound!! For shame, Netherlands – time to remove your banner that says “We Are The Best” and put it out with the trash…. |
Djoeke Degeling | It is very unfair to do such terrible things to people and dogs. It is important to punish the guy! |
Sheila Wall | This caregiver could continue to do the same to other people! I thought Netherlands was much more civilized and advanced in human rights than this portrays. It seems obvious that the dogs WERE given rat poison, so wht insist that a citizen has to pay for testing more rat poison that was found in the same area? Does Netherlands try to let their handicapped people die? |
Kathy Dunn | In the USA, caregiver abuse is taken seriously, and people with disabilities are in a special protected class with children and the elderly. The actions of this caregiver need to be taken seriously by authorities, and the person prosecuted. Other people unknowingly hiring this person are also at risk! |
Patricia Feil | To exploit anyone is a crime. To steal from them is a crime. To medicate them in order to exploit them is most definitely a crime. To kill their companion animal in vengeful hate is a hate crime. How much more is this true when you add that the victim is handicapped and at the mercy of such an evil person. To allow this to happen with no retribution places others at risk. This is a crime against humanity, a crime against the very persons he pretends to serve. |
Carolyn Sherie | This is absolutely staggering! What is wrong with your justice system. I live in Africa with a much poorer infrastructure and I would certainly expect more. I know the people concerned and that they are very fair-minded and not prone to complaining or exaggeration. Please at the very least insure that this cannot happen to anyone else. |
Isabelle Peper | Het kan niet zo zijn dat deze mensen achterblijven met een gevoel dat ze niet serieus genomen worden als ze zich slachtoffer zien van drie lafhartige misdaden. |
Elizabeth Smit | This is a disgusting act from someone in a position of power & the person should have to answer for their crime. |
Cheryl Evans | Prosecute this person to the fullest extent. |
elizabeth king | Its the right thing to do. |
Donna Flaherty | i am also a caegiver and I know how very important it is to be able to trust those we leave our loved one with. What this person did, to take advantage of the handicapped and beloved pets, is unconscionable and cowardly and they need to be held accountable. |
Wilma Schaaders | I am signing because I hate this sort of violence |
Lin Brough | I’m appalled at this abuse of an individual with a disability, and absolutely sickened by the lack of the police to properly investigate it. What kind of corrupt police force is this?! |
Kurt Larson | It’s the right thing to do. These acts are inexcusable ! |
Heather Hinds | We must speak up and protect those who cannot protect themselves. These shameful crimes will only be repeated if this individual is not brought to justice. I implore the local police and politicians of this community to re-open this case. This person is a predator and must be stopped. |
Shayne murphy | I support the cause and my family. |
Joyce Hazelton | If these acts are not seen as serious by the police they will be repeated. And that is totally unacceptable! |
Cari OConnor | Anyone that can be this cruel most be punished for their actions. We’re trying to have a proper society here and authorities cannot turn a blind eye to these disgusting acts. |
Barbara Sterrenburg | These are good friends and good people who have suffered a terrible injustice and deserve a proper investigation at the least. I urge the Dutch authorities to honor their request and this petition. |
Claire Quinn | I am appalled that these horrendous crimes have happened to my dear friends, but I am even more shocked and saddened at the lack of support, action and involvement of the Dutch Police and Prosecution Service. The man who committed these crimes is known to them, yet is freely walking around as if nothing has happened. Where is the justice in this? Please, please do the right thing and then hopefully my friends can have some closure to this awful crime . |
Julie rehfeld | i tirered of VICTIMS not have any wrights and the thugs getting away with everything because they have to many wrights |
Rebecca Middleton | I’m disgusted that time and time again common sense is not being used in cases like these and the guilty walk the streets only to do harm again. |
Richard Steenbergen van | Er moet.gerechtigheid zijn |
bert van Zoolingen | its the right thing to |
Debby hillebrand | Ik teken omdat ik vind dat mensen die dit soort dingen doen hiervoor gestraft zouden moeten worden. In plaats van zoals het nu gaat hier gewoon mee weg komen. |
Jo Shepherd | I am horrified that this case should ever need the support of a petition. These are honest, hardworking and caring people who I know to be wholly trustworthy and cannot believe what the justice system is putting them through, let alone perpetrator, they are victims twice over. It is hard enough to live with a disability but to experience it without support and not being able to trust those employed to protect you; caregivers and the police, would be intolerable. I beseech those in power to re-examine this case to bring justice for my friends and their dogs but also to bring peace of mind for those who may well be the next innocent person at the hands of unscrupulous parasites |
Gudy Polman | one of the dogs was a child of my dog and i don’t like this hole thing its bad voorery bad that this happend. |
Martin Rees | Injustice needs to be deal with |
Michele Shields | I’m signing because people can’t function properly in life when they are overwhelmed by a system that is more problematic than helpful. And when all ones energies are forced in a direction of survival they are not able to use their creativity to better the society they live in. This place is missing out on the great abilities these people have towards being a positive impact on their environment. |
marie vangerpet | Vulnerable people need protection. They are at the mercy of caregivers many of whom are unscrupulous. Prosecution is important. With a zero tolerance policy caregivers are held to a higher standard as they should be since they are caring for thosywho cannot protect themselves. |
Jean Bender | This is why I have to have cameras in my house to monitor caregivers for my son with disabilities. |
Donald Sluter | I am in favor of justice and accountability. |
Laura Harrison | I have had a stroke.. caregivers are to be loving and careing.. I am also a voice for animals….this makes me sick |
anja buss | IT is A crime! |
Dede George | Justice needs to be done! These people had 2 dogs, one of whom lost his life because of this person. Those dogs were their children…family. Besides, the vulnerable adult in this case was poisoned, nearly killed by this man. Why would you allow him to continue, and try to take advantage of his next victim?!? |
Pim van Liesdonk | This should be solved!!! |
Kathleen Rees | Please bring justice for these crimes & help our dear friends |
tom rops | i believe in Rob, Ellyn and in justice for all! |
Brian Carfagna | I have met Rob and Ellyn. They are tremendous people, and I want to help. I knew Jansen, as well. He was a wonderful little dog. It’s so sad, everything that has happened. If just one more signature could help bring about justice, I’m obliged and happy to sign this petition. |
Amanda Van Esch | The people who rely on caregivers need to be assured that they will receive safe care and that the caregiver will be prosecuted if they intentionally inflict harm or provide substandard care! |
Robert Sullivan | What good are police if they will not investigate a crime? |
Peter Kenton | This is a very serious case and requires a thorough and proper investigation |
Carol Bumbaca | I want justice for the victims of these heinous crimes. |
Raymond Stachowiak | I think it is inexcusable that these crimes are not completely investigated and the guilty party brought to justice |
Barry Stankiewicz | Justice must be sought for all who have been victimized. These two are friends and good people. It pains me to hear that fopr all they have been through recently, they believe they are not receiving justice for this obvious wrong doing. |
Leslie Hurst | This is my sister. |
Ann Page | This man is vulnerable and these crimes should be properly investigated and if the caregiver is guilty then he should not be able to work or hurt any other disabled people. |
freek sopa | i want to sign |
