Acrylic on paper. A4 29.7cm x 21cm (11.69″ x 8.27″) Rob sent his painting to Aj and Di who live near Chicago. Here is a photo of it framed:
Nice day today to cut down branches. Jane also helped to fill-up the bird bath.
Echte een mijlpaal! Since Rob broke his lower leg (tibia/fibula) 8 months ago, he has not been able to use his standing frame. We have seen a real negative effect in his health and overall well being when not being able to use it. Today he was able to finally […]
Rob said “I laid a square egg with this painting today”. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but I know that it is a good thing. Acrylic on paper. A4 29.7cm x 21cm (11.69″ x 8.27″)
Had a nice walk with the doggies down by the lake. Spring is really coming, and I think I saw a baby sheep already! I really need to get a better camera, because they are just too fast for the one I have now.
It was beautiful today, first hearing Rob singing with so much passion, and then seeing the results of his painting. He has been having a lot of pain, so he worked on visualising the “painthing”, and hence this painting. What is absolutely amazing to me is just how much it […]
Rob said it was “beautiful” to paint today. He said that he feels the the connections being made with the right side (affected) of his brain. According to us, this is neuroplasticity working. It takes a lot of effort by him, but he is really making progress. Acrylic on paper. […]
I know this is stupid, but what else are we going to entertain ourselves in the middle of winter with — humans?
They added a bit of colour to the mix. Now that we know that painting is really a hit with Rob, and helping him so much, off to buy more colours and brushes….
We got some nice gifts in the post from my sister today — thanks Les! I got a way nice poncho that is ever so soft. Rob got a Verdomme Pop (Dammit Doll) that I think he will get a lot of good use out of. Of course, Jansen thinks […]
We finally have online grocery shopping near us. I could not be more thrilled. Rob and I always shared grocery shopping and cooking, and the last years i pretty much do it all, which is not really by choice. Grocery shopping is one of my least favourite tasks, especially in […]
Rob started doing painting excercises. There is a huge difference from where he was at in the beginning in 2009, and after rehabilitation therapies in 2010 and 2012. It is really challenging for him to do painting with his non-dominant hand and also with neurological issues that don’t allow him […]
We had a nice quiet day today. Santa decided to bring Rob 3 rather big seizures today. We take them as they come now, but definitely not a nice way for him to celebrate the festivities. Happily, Rob was able to bounce back a little and enjoy some fun. Hope […]
We had a nice afternoon today, We have not been getting out much, partially because Rob has not felt comfortable transferring into the car after his broken leg this summer, but now also because the car is just not working — electronics are all messed up. A few years ago […]
I know for many, this may seem like a small thing, but we are very pleased with getting a nice new shiny kitchen faucet/tap. Last week we had a major blow-out on our faucet and enough water to have a Niagra Falls in our kitchen. Of course, it was not […]
We had a really nice visit with Remco and Jos. Remco brought his guitars along and played for us. We also did some work on Rob’s Zx-1. Actually, it ended up being quite a lot of work, but as former navy engineers, they are both great with equipment. It was […]
We had a wonderful visit with our brother Mike. It’s so great to have a loving brother, and so much appreciated that he is helping us sort out some equipment stuff. 30 years ago we built bicycles together, and now we are just doing it a bit different, and prototyping […]
