Rob and I have been talking about the mess the worlds seems to be in socially, politically and economically everywhere these days. We have always liked talking about where things are going in the world, but both feel rather clueless about where things are going now.
We think there needs to be some new thoughts, and hence words, out there to to discuss changes in world thoughts. Rob came up with the idea of the word “Omniism”, from the Latin omnis “all” or “of all things”. I use the acronym “CapSocCom” collectively for capitalism, socialism, communism, in relation to recent systems that seem to be failing so many of us.
We thought it would be interesting to hear your thoughts about what the future system should be like, or what the name should be. We are only playing with thoughts, e.g., light banter. This is not a discussion toward any specific country, or religious in any way, but more of a light ideological discussion.
So you have some reference of what we are talking about in relation to recent systems:
- Capitalism: free market, every man for themselves, production for profit first = failing
- Socialism: the welfare state, cradle to grave security, social ownership = failing
- Communism: classless, moneyless, and stateless social order = failed
N.B. We know these definitions are not really accurate, but they are meant by general common social use today.
