There is not much new happening with us, so I thought I would share our story about our visiting hedgehog friend and flea bag dogs.
We’ve had a hedgehog that we call “Ed” visiting for many years. We met him first when he was not much bigger than a tennis ball. At that time we had an apple tree, and he use to love to come feast on all of the fallen apples.
It always happens about the same time of the year that he makes his presence known. This year he has come a bit early. We cut down his favourtie apple tree, because it was not doing well, but still Ed seems to like to come visit. He is now the size of a cantaloupe!
The dogs still go nuts, with a certain sound to let us know that “Ed” has arrived in the garden. He is covered with leaves and flea’s all over him. Somehow I don’t think he feels them the same way as other critters with all of the prickles. For us, it means many dog baths because of the fleas, but it is still nice to see him.
When he was a youngster, he always curled up in a ball, but now he shows himself proudly. It’s really nice when we brought him in and gave him some good chow, he immediately came out of his prickly shell to see us. This guy has prickles, and we are very happy to have him around.
