I had a nice after work paddle with our neighbour Yvonne. Our neighbours Ton and Djoeke have kindly let us borrow their kayak’s. This was our second time out, and Yvonne is new to it all, but doing great. Other than our rather ungraceful flops getting in and out of them from our deck, we have not dunked yet.

We are hoping to take them over the dike this weekend and get some open water paddling in. That should be much easier than the narrow canal’s, but the canals are also nice with ducks, swans, cows, and water lilies.

Interestingly, they call them canoe’s “kano’s” here, and the other type are called Canadian or open canoe’s.

As you can see, Jansen and Jane really want to get in on the action too. I’m not sure how that would work, especially if they try to jump out at the wrong moment, which of course they will do because they are Jack Russell’s!
