Early Valentines Day Pink Dinner

We just celebrated Valentines Day early, though it was not really planned that way.  We had beet and onion hotchpot (stamppot). It’s one of those traditional Dutch things. It was the first time for me making it, so I thought I would do some pictures. Rob likes it with bacon cutlets (speklapjes) and gravy and I did mine with grilled salmon and dill sauce. As I understand it, the crater for the the sauce is also part of the tradition with stamppot.  I’m not sure how crazy I am about pink food, but it was kind of fun for a change. The dogs loved it too — I always make way too much.
