We think we have a solution
Beyond all belief, it looks like the stars might be aligning so that we can get the wheelchair over. I am totally amazed and heartened at the generosity of people.
Thank you all for your concern and help. I will keep you posted on how it goes. If you hear we’re on vacation, it’s because we’re chasing a wheelchair around Europe.
My husband Rob took a bad flip out of a not appropriate government provided wheelchair because it broke. I am now desperately trying to find him a good quality and safe used wheelchair quickly, as it’s going to take some time to sort it out with the government.
I found someone in Plymouth, NH who has one that meets his specifications, which are quite complicated to explain. We are being quoted a lot of money to ship it over — the same as the cost of the wheelchair!.
It would save a lot of time and money if we could find someone to fly it over (wheelchairs travel free). We would also need to figure out how to get it to someone, so of course someone not too far away from Plymouth, NH would be best.
I know it’s a lot to ask, but I wanted to see if anyone, or someone you know is coming towards Amsterdam, Belgium or northern Germany soon, and would be willing to help. We would be happy to pay for your/their time and effort, and provide a place to stay if interested.
